Teamed with a 5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission, 266 pounds-feet of torque and an estimated 5000 lb towing capacity, the 2008 4Runner is enough to keep any Sports Utility fan satisfied. If you crave even more power, a V8 engine is available on all models; this increases the towing capacity to an estimated 7300 lb, 260-hp, and 306 pounds-feet of torque!
With rear and four-wheel drive available, the driving quality on this model is above par. You can expect a quiet and smooth ride in the spacious 5-passenger interior. You can also opt to add two extra third row seats to increase this craft to a 7-passenger capacity. There is a variety of ways to fold up the third row seats, and maximize the storage capacity of this vehicle.

The 2008 4Runner is as safe as ever, offering standard all-disc antilock brakes. In addition, the 2008 model comes standard with seat-mounted side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags with rollover sensors.
