Toyota Tops GM in Global Car Sales, Q1 2008

From the trends and the close 2007, it was bound to happen.

With sales totals in for the first quarter of 2008, Toyota is the largest car maker in the world, taking the crown from General Motors. In Q1 2008 GM sold 2.25 million vehicles (worldwide), and Toyota came in with 2.41 million.

Sales in the U.S. are down for both Toyota and GM, but Toyota less so (10% to about 4.5%).
