Toyota is the World Champion of Auto Makers!
Ladies and Gentle, boys and girls, children of all ages! In this corner, with a total of 8.97 million 2008 car and truck sales, Toyoooooooootaaaaaaaaaaaaa! In the opposite corner, with a combined sales of 8.35 million vehicles between a dozen makes, Chev-rooooooooooooo-let! Car companies, LET’S GET READY TO OUT-SSSSSSSSEEEEEELLLLLLLL!
For 77 years General Motors held claim to the Worlds Top Auto Maker when it came to sales. Thanks in part to the American Automotive crisis this past year, sales for all GM products took a dip, allowing Toyota to take top billing as the World’s #1 Car Seller. Congrats Toyota! This is the first time GM lost the crown after taking it from Ford in 1931.
