Prius V: The Final Frontier
The 2012 Prius V specs were released this week – here’s everything you wanted to know about the new, larger Prius model.
Prius V Breakdown:
Prius V gets 42 MPG City, 38 MPG Highway, 40 MPG Combined. A “minivan” or station wagon like design, the car has 34.3 cubic feet of cargo volume. Second row seats slide, fold flat, and recline 45 degrees for comfort, or to fit more groceries. Prius V contains the first-ever “resin Panoramic View moonroof” with power retractable sun shades. It is also one of the first Toyota vehicles with the Entune™ multimedia system.
While V has the same 1.8 liter engine as the 3rd generation Prius, this model can hit the 0 to 60 mark in 11.5 seconds. Not bad for a hybrid.
Like all Toyota models, Prius V will feature Toyota’s Star Safety System™ standard. This includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. It also features the new Smart Stop Technology brake-override system. We all know why this was implemented, no need to bring up past history.
