Is Toyota Bringing Back Celica?

Is Toyota bringing back the Celica coupe? Probably not. But the Japanese auto maker would like to introduce a sporty model to back up their line of green, eco-friendly autos. The Subaru-Toyota joint sports car, FT-86, will now go to Scion as their next model, FR-S.

At the Goodwood car festival, an enhanced Celica was the fastest vehicle to race up the 1.6 mile long driveway of the Goodwood House.

Former British Rally Champion Jonny Milner was behind the wheel of this modified coupe, which included a supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This power plant produced 700 hp at first, and over 800 hp with a nitrous oxide boost. It shot up the course in 48.07 seconds.

Maybe the auto maker should rethink bringing back cars like Celica.
